Melanie Golder

I am a Victoria-based visual artist whose practice spans fibre, glass, metal, concrete, wood, and light-based media. Centered in sculpture, my work explores transformation, connection, reflection, and our relationship with the natural world.

My greatest artistic passion is to participate in the creation of magical spaces for people to gather and connect. I believe in the power of collective effervescence to dissolve the boundaries between self and other, those rare moments when movement, sound, and presence coalesce into something larger than any individual. In these shared experiences, people rediscover their aliveness. For me, that is art’s highest calling: to create conditions of reflection  where wonder feels possible and where we remember what it means to belong.

As a chocolatier, I create flavours inspired by places I’ve travelled and make bon bons that are delicately painted and themselves mini works of art.
